A working meeting with representatives of the Nuclear Power Institute of China (NPIC)*, Unialltrans Group (UG) (People's Republic of China), Tekhneo Hlobal Ltd and State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety (SSTC NRS) was held in Kyiv on 7 June.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss cooperation between Ukraine and China in the field of nuclear and radiation safety and further development of the scientific and technical potential of the abovementioned institutions through experience feedback and joint research. Having presented the activities of NPIC, UG and SSTC NRS, the meeting participants identified areas of possible cooperation including the development of guidelines for assessing nuclear facility safety and improving effectiveness of radiation protection of personnel, the public and the environment at the facilities with nuclear and radiation technologies in Ukraine and China.
Resulting from the meeting, the Memorandum was sighed, in which the parties agreed on a further joint action plan for 2018-2019. In particular, the development of guidelines for safety assessment of China's nuclear facilities is planned for late 2018, and the development of computer models and computational analyzes are planned in 2019.

This is the only complex research and testing base of nuclear energy in China. The cooperation with SSTC NRS started in 2016.
